This year the City of Orlando is holding its Veterans Day Parade at Lake Nona, in partnership with the Lake Nona VA Medical Center. It starts at 11 AM, it is free, and the city's parking advice is short, so plan to arrive early.
The 27th Annual City of Orlando Veterans Day Parade is Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 11 AM to 1 PM at Lake Nona Town Center, 6955 Lake Nona Boulevard, Orlando, FL 32827, according to the city's 2026 Veterans Day Parade page, checked October 29, 2026. The Orlando VA Healthcare System's parade news release adds a 10:45 AM opening ceremony in Lake Nona Town Center before the 11 AM step off. The city lists the cost as free.
A ceremony follows the parade at the end point near Boxi Park.
Where does the parade route go?
The parade begins and ends at Lake Nona Town Center, the city says. It flows through the town center and ends near Boxi Park, where the official ceremony and sponsor vendor booths will be set up.
The city has not posted a street by street route map as of October 29, 2026, but its road closure notice shows where the parade runs. From 10 AM to 1 PM on November 7, 2026, the city is closing Veterans Way from Laureate Boulevard to Benjamin Adam Drive, Benjamin Adam Drive from Veterans Way to Tavistock Lakes Boulevard, and Lake Nona Boulevard from Veterans Way to Tavistock Lakes Boulevard. Temporary no parking signs may go up, Orlando police will be on the route, and the city says times can change. For a curb spot, aim for the Boxi Park end, where the parade finishes and the ceremony happens.
Where do you park for the Lake Nona parade?
The city's parking guidance is two lines. Street parking is available throughout Lake Nona, and drivers should follow signs and instructions. The city also says parking is available right where the parade stops, at the ceremony site.
The city calls the parking at the parade end a garage but does not name it, and says there will not be room in it for large floats, buses, or other large vehicles. The city does not say how many spaces are available.
The VA's release is more specific. It tells spectators to park in the Lake Nona Town Center garage at 6955 Lake Nona Boulevard, the Wave Hotel garage at 5900 Wave Hotel Drive, or at the VA Medical Center, 13800 Veterans Way.
Can you take a LYNX bus to the parade?
Yes, but plan for detours. The LYNX April 26, 2026, service change notice routes Link 418, the Florida Mall, Meadow Woods and Lake Nona FastLink, through Lake Nona on Laureate Boulevard, Veterans Way, Lake Nona Boulevard, and Nemours Parkway. Parts of Veterans Way and Lake Nona Boulevard close from 10 AM to 1 PM. LYNX has not posted a parade detour as of October 30, 2026, so call customer service at 407 841 5969 before you ride.
Why is the parade at Lake Nona this year?
The city says the 2026 parade is hosted in partnership with Tavistock and the Lake Nona VA Medical Center, which brings the event "into the heart of Central Florida's veteran healthcare network." That campus is the Orlando VA Medical Center. Lake Nona's page on it says the medical center covers 1.2 million square feet and serves "the region's 400,000 veterans," a regional population estimate rather than a count of VA patients. The parade is one of Mayor Buddy Dyer's signature events, and K92.3's Obie, Chloe and Slater are the emcees.
The 2026 theme is "Veterans Helping Veterans and Their Families." In recognition of America's 250th anniversary, the city says this year's event will pay special tribute to those who served and highlight the support of military families and service organizations.
Where can you eat after the ceremony?
Boxi Park sits right at the finish, at 6877 Tavistock Lakes Boulevard. Lake Nona describes it as a family and dog friendly outdoor venue built from shipping containers, with restaurants, shaded seating, a playground, and a fenced dog park.
Boxi Park's directions page lists Saturday hours of noon to 11 PM, which would have it open before the parade ends at 1 PM. Neither the city nor Boxi Park has posted special hours for November 7, 2026.
For day of questions, the Lake Nona Information Center at 13630 Sachs Avenue, Suite 110, lists Saturday hours of 10 AM to 5 PM and a phone number of 407 888 6500.
What other Veterans Day events are in Orange County?

Ocoee holds a Veterans Day Ceremony on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, from 6:30 to 7:30 PM at Bill Breeze Park, 125 North Lakeshore Drive, Ocoee, FL 34761. Retired Lieutenant Colonel Scott Harris is the keynote speaker, the fire department's ladder truck will be on display, and fireworks run from 7 to 7:30 PM. Where can a veteran in your family get help?
The Orlando VA Medical Center is on the parade's own street, at 13800 Veterans Way. Its main phone is 407 631 1000, mental health care is 407 631 2050, and VA Health Connect is 877 741 3400.
A veteran in crisis can reach the Veterans Crisis Line by dialing 988 and pressing 1, or by texting 838255.
For benefits claims, Orange County Veterans Services at 2100 East Michigan Street helps veterans and eligible family members free of charge. The office sees people on a walk in basis and asks you to call 407 836 8990 for hours.
Is there school on Veterans Day?
Veterans Day falls on Wednesday, November 11, 2026. The OCPS 2026 to 2027 School Calendar, checked October 29, 2026, does not list November 11, 2026, as a holiday or student day off. The next scheduled break is Thanksgiving week, November 23 to 27, 2026, though the calendar lists November 23 and 24, 2026, as severe weather make up days.
Who do you contact with questions?
The city lists Ashley Monaghan, ashley.monaghan@orlando.gov, as the event contact. City Hall, 407 246 2121, answers Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, so call by Friday, November 6, 2026, not on parade morning. Veterans Day is not on the city's Observed Holidays list of 2026 closures.
Roads close at 10 AM, an hour before the 11 AM step off, so be parked before then.
